Dr. Elaine Stavro
Professor Elaine Stavro received her Ph.D. from the University of Toronto. She has taught in England at Wolverhampton, Guildhall, North London and Middlesex universities, before returning to Canada to teach first at Queen's University and then, in 1990, at Trent University. Prof. Stavro’s primary areas of research include theoretical work, continental philosophy, feminist and gender theory, and the body politic in contemporary culture. Her publications include many peer-reviewed articles, and at present, she is completing a book on Simone de Beauviour.
