Pilot Episode of Chance Encounters Sees Chancellor Stephen Stohn Talking to Singer/Songwriter, Author, and Much Music Pioneer Christopher Ward
Coming soon to a computer near you: Chance Encounters, a brand new interview series, hosted by Trent University Chancellor Stephen Stohn.
Since his time at Trent University in the 1960s, a series of chance encounters has enriched Chancellor Stohn’s extraordinary career in Canadian show business. Naturally curious and conversational, his interactions have led to roles as a Canadian top 10 songwriter, award-winning television producer, and prominent entertainment lawyer. Now, wearing his Chancellor hat, Dr. Stohn is welcoming friends of Trent to a series of informal and intimate interviews. This time, the chance encounters will be shared with you.
The pilot episode of “Chance Encounters” features Chancellor Stohn talking to his good friend, songwriter, radio and television personality, and novelist Christopher Ward. Ward, a member of Trent’s class of ‘67, has written songs for Diana Ross, Hilary Duff, Wynonna Judd, The Backstreet Boys, and many others. His new album is expected to drop May 28th. We're pleased to present his brand new take on "Black Velvet," the number one hit he penned for Alannah Myles. Find that video below.
He helped launch Much Music as Canada’s first VJ and is currently co-host of the radio show/podcast “Famous Lost Words.” Ward has written three novels. His latest book, Is This Live? Inside the Wild Early Years of MuchMusic, was published by Random House Canada in October of 2016.
Production of the series has been halted to comply with Ontario lockdown protocols, but we expect to be launching it soon.
