Thank You to Volunteers Who Strengthen Trent Community and Beyond
On National Volunteer Week, Trent celebrates those who generously give their time and talents to help others
April 20, 2023
On National Volunteer Week (April 16 – 22), we celebrate and thank our volunteers who empower Trent University to do its important work and all alumni volunteers who give back to their own communities.
Thank you to the volunteers who serve in many different capacities whether through the Trent Board of Governors, Campaign for Momentous Change, Trent University Alumni Association, Trent Day, Convocation, Trent Homecoming, Life After Trent, alumni chapters, or interest groups.
Volunteering happens in myriad ways across both campuses whether volunteers serve as a guest lecturer, student mentor, or volunteer notetaker.
“The energy of our volunteers is vital to the vibrant Trent community,” says Sherry Booth ’98, associate vice-president Philanthropy & Alumni Engagement. “We recognize the value of one and the power of many in sharing their time and talents to help make Trent a great place for our students to thrive.”
Canadians from coast to coast are marking National Volunteer Week by celebrating our collective impact through kindness, generosity, and commitment to creating stronger and more vibrant communities. The theme this year is ‘Volunteering Weaves Us Together.’
If you are interested in volunteering at Trent, there are many opportunities through this year’s Convocation. In fact, Convocation would not be possible without the alumni, retirees, staff, faculty and students who help make the day run smoothly. Learn more, register to be a Convocation ambassador or email convocation@trentu.ca for more information.
