Save the Date: Join Trent Day on April 4

Annual event to be marked by food drive on both campuses, support challenge and volunteerism

Support Service Spirit

Make sure to save the date of Tuesday, April 4, as the Trent Family gets ready to celebrate the third-annual Trent Day, which will include an on-campus food drive, a new challenge that will support current students and a unified display of volunteerism across the globe.

For the food drive, bring your non-perishables on Trent Day to donation booths stationed on the Symons and Durham campuses from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Look for the Trent Day tent across from the Bata parking lot on Symons Campus, and outside of the new residence building on the Durham GTA campus.

If you can't make it to a booth on Trent Day, please bring your non-perishable items to the closest College Office before 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 4, and your donations will be added to the Trent Day Food Drive. All donations will support Kawartha Food Share in Peterborough and Feed the Need in Durham in Oshawa.

JOIN THE TRENT DAY CHALLENGE
This Trent Day, you can support students in a powerful, easy, and affordable way by becoming a monthly donor. Our 2023 Trent Day challenge is to sign up 50 new monthly donors - whether that's to the Trent Fund, which supports students with new and emerging needs such as groceries, emergency housing, and mental health initiatives, or another fund that is close to your heart.

You will receive a free Trent Fund Club canvas tote bag if you sign up as a monthly donor to the Trent Fund by April 4, with a minimum $15 monthly pledge; or if you upgrade your monthly giving amount by $10 or more.

Trent Day will also celebrate the University’s founding value of service to the community by inviting alumni and community to volunteer with organizations in their area. Be sure to sign-up before 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 23 for one of the valuable volunteer opportunities in Peterborough:
- At Kawartha Food Share, Cuddles for Cancer, the Peterborough Museum & Archives
– In Durham at Feed the Need in Durham, and in Toronto at Casey House. Of course, you can always register another volunteer activity that is close to your heart

Whatever you do, and wherever you are this Trent Day, be sure to wear your Trent threads and show your school spirit. No matter where our paths take us, our Trent stories always bring us together, so be sure to send us your Trent memories, stories, and photos. Don’t forget to tune in as we share them on Trent Day.
