University Community Joins PSB Wilson in Supporting Athletics at Trent
September 16, 2022
A successful fundraising campaign has helped boost the PSB Wilson Fund for Athletics and Recreation to new heights. The fund, created to honour Trent’s founding athletics director Paul Wilson upon his retirement in 2002, is a permanent endowment to support athletics programs and services.
Paul’s exemplary concern for students inspired the generosity of alumni, colleagues, students, Board, and community members to establish the permanent endowment fund that, to date, has enabled over $160,000 for new equipment and improving facilities and programs to maintain Trent’s high standards for athletics.
The recent fundraising campaign in recognition of 20 years since Paul’s retirement, bumped the fund to $223,000.
“Mr. P.S.B. Wilson continues to inspire, and have an amazing positive impact on Trent Athletics, our students and Excalibur student-athletes,” says Deborah Bright-Brundle, Director, Athletics and Recreation. “Thank you to all of the friends and supporters of the P.S.B. Wilson Fund. With your support Trent Athletics continues to provide the best in sport, health and wellness programs and services for our students! You have made an amazing everlasting impact for our Trent students and for our Trent Excalibur varsity student-athletes!”
A true Trent luminary, Paul concluded his 36-year career as Athletics Director by becoming the only staff member to simultaneously receive the Symons Teaching Award and the Eminent Service Award.
