#FacesOfTrentU: Philanthropy in Action

Jesse Wolf, MSc Environmental & Life Sciences

Jesse wolf for student impact“As I am sure you can imagine, every dollar helps as a graduate student. So I want to reiterate my extreme gratitude and thanks for receiving the BMO Financial Group’s Graduate Entrance Scholarship.”

Aspiring ecologist and conservation biologist, Jesse Wolf, is a graduate student pursuing a M.Sc. in Environmental and Life Sciences graduate degree at Trent University.

A strong desire to practice environmental sustainability drives Jesse’s research at Trent, which is concerned with the management and genetic connectivity of the mountain goat subpopulations in British Columbia. Jesse’s research also examines the way in which findings in the gut microbiomes of the mountain goats coincides with their use of habitat.

Since starting at Trent, Jesse has been able to expand his scientific toolkit. This development has allowed Jesse to introduce a genetics/genomics approach to ongoing ecological and conservation issues.

Grateful for the BMO Group’s moral and financial support, Jesse Wolf has also been recognized as a Future Green Leader for demonstrating a “green” approach in his research and for having the potential to be a leader in his field of study.
