Robert Ta, B.Sc Honours Biomedical Science Medical Professional Stream

Robert Ta is a first-year B.Sc. Honours student the in Biomedical Science Medical Professional Stream whose commendable achievements have earned him the 2020 Board of Governor’s Leadership Scholarship.
Robert’s passion and drive for his field of study is reflected in his ability to maintain an academic average of over 90 percent. This impressive work ethic extends far beyond school as Robert divides his time between competitive swimming, teaching piano lessons, and volunteering in his community.
“I had great teachers who helped bring out my inner musician. They got me to where I am today, and I believe that everyone can be successful. It just takes someone significant and meaningful in their learning process that believes in them to get them to where they need to be."
As a teacher to the young and a volunteer for the elderly, Robert has become equipped with a deep compassion for others and a commitment to giving back to his community through the field of healthcare.
"Going into medicine is the best way to help others, and it has always been my philosophy to do whatever I can within my capacity to help the people around me."
Robert looks forward to the future despite the challenges presented by the current pandemic. As an emerging leader in his community, Robert strives to share his optimistic view of life with others and in this time—that alone is noteworthy.
