The McLean Foundation Bolsters Bursaries for Trent Durham GTA Students
The McLean Foundation invests in Trent Durham GTA students in financial need with a $25,000 gift to immediately remove the financial burden for bright, motivated students who will contribute to this growing and changing community.
"Over 75 percent of Trent Durham students receive financial aid, that is more than any other university in Canada," explained Dr. Scott Henderson, dean and head of Trent University Durham. "The McLean Foundations support will provide bursaries for students who possess the drive, curiosity, and creativity to make a difference in the Durham community and beyond."
The McLean Foundation's latest gift builds on their long-time support of Trent students. For over 45 years, they have supported students' success through graduate student summer awards that foster student-initiated research in Environmental Studies, Watershed Ecosystems, Biology, and Geography to cultivate and support research partnerships between faculty members and graduate students.
The McLean Foundations gift is part of phase two of The Campaign for Trent Durham GTA. It aims to raise $1 million to create 30 new awards and bursaries dedicated exclusively for Trent Durham students and to provide career experiences inside and outside the classroom to help provide students with the entrepreneurial skills and real-life experience needed for success.
