Lady Eaton College (Wisdom and Humanity)

Spring Grad Reception LEC

Help us enrich student experiences by supporting a sustainable, perpetual, and dependable source of funds - the Lady Eaton College Endowment.

Lady Eaton College recently celebrated five decades of bringing students, staff, faculty and alumni together to create what is truly a one-of-a-kind community. We need your help in raising critical funds to continue to grow this vibrant college for another 50 years, and beyond.

Enriching the academic lives of our members is central to the mission of Lady Eaton College. How do we work to achieve this? We partnered with the Trent Department of History and the Beth Israel Synagogue to bring Holocaust survivor and Trent Honorary degree recipient, Max Eisen, to campus to share his life story to an enraptured crowd of over 800 people. We also supported the Philosophy department’s Gilbert Ryle Lecture Series to bring Professor Luciano Floridi from the University of Oxford for a series of thought-provoking lectures and events with students and faculty. As part of our 50th Anniversary Celebrations, we invited Dr. Tim Cook, Curator and Public Historian at the Canadian War Museum, to return to LEC as our alum in residence. Throughout the week he visited classes, shared a meal with the Trent History Undergraduate Society, spoke candidly with students at a fire-side career chat, and joined a behind-the-scenes tour of the Peterborough Drill Hall/ Armoury National Historic Site of Canada.

Lady Eaton College endowment funds will be used to continue this good work in supporting the academic mission of the college for years to come.

Funds raised can support many projects that will enhance the lives of our students in ways such as:

Creating a mural in the main hall of Lady Eaton College to celebrate our 50th Anniversary and to share our vision for Lady Eaton College for years to come;
Supporting academic learning through sponsoring of public lectures and guest speakers;
Relocating and expanding our music room and our Vaisey Music Library to improve access for students;
Developing a gallery space for students to curate and display their artwork within the college;
Building additional covered bike racks to support Lady Eaton fellows and students who choose alternative transportation and reduce our impact on the environment.

Your contribution to the Lady Eaton College Endowment fund can make a transformative impact on the lives of Lady Eaton students today.
