In 1972 the Trent University Alumni Association held the first homecoming event during the Head of the Trent regatta, marking the beginning of a beautiful partnership and Trent tradition. 

50 years later, we’re celebrating with a return to campus.

Otonabee College Logo imageOtonabee College will kick off their 50th Anniversary Celebrations during the 2022 Alumni Homecoming Weekend. Visit the OC tent, located on the Bata Podium, to find out about anniversary events planned for the coming year, learn about how you can participate, and pick up your OC merch.

OC staff, students, and alumni volunteers will be on-site gathering myOC Stories as part of a special 50th Anniversary project. Don’t miss this chance to make your mark on OC history! 

Start the day at OC’s Bleed Green Brunch and Pep Rally. Enjoy breakfast with students and alumni, get painted-up in green and white, and practice some cheers before heading out for a day of Homecoming fun! Stay tuned for details.

The Novice Film Screening

Champlain College hosts three screenings of The Novice, a full-length feature film shot on Symons Campus in 2019. Staring Isabelle Fuhrman, this film showcases the highly competitive world of varsity rowing, making Trent the perfect backdrop for the film – featuring academic spaces alongside the University’s state-of-the-art and second-to-none indoor and outdoor rowing facilities. The film even features a few members of the Trent Excalibur Women’s Rowing team!

Traill College Scarfing Ceremony imageAlumni and friends are invited to visit Catharine Parr Traill College for the 2022 Scarf Ceremony, an annual tradition where matriculating students are officially welcomed or ‘scarved’ into their College community.

Did you miss your scarf ceremony? Perhaps you attended Traill before this tradition began? Alumni are encouraged to join Principal Michael Eamon and members of the Traill Community in bestowing this proud symbol of college affiliation to the Class of 2022. As in past years, PR alumni are also welcome in this celebration. 

While visiting Traill Campus, be sure to check out the progress on the exciting Jalynn Bennett Amphitheatre project, stop by The Trend, and tour the recent renovations to Scott House, including the stunning Senior Common Room.

Peter Gzowski College CrestPeter Gzowski College welcomes Gzowski and Peter Robinson alumni to an Open House in the Robinson Dining Hall, followed by a walking tour of Trent’s Indigenous art, hosted by College Principal, Melanie Buddle.

"On the Shores of Odoonabii-Ziibi: Anishinaabe Art from the Trent University Art Collection” was a self-guided tour first curated and exhibited in 2015 by Jonathon Lockyer ʼ04, former director of Artspace. Since then, new pieces, installations, and murals have been welcomed to the College.

Don’t miss this exclusive opportunity to learn about these valuable pieces, their artists, and how they came to be part of the Trent University collection.

Back again this year is the Trent University Rowing Club Beer Garden, supporting varsity rowing at Trent. This 19+ event features performances from live bands and DJs. $10 cover includes a 2022 commemorative HOTT mug.

The Alumni Fast-Track line is available between 12:00 - 4:00 p.m. – be sure to visit the Alumni Welcome Tent first to get your Alumni wristband for access to this and other alumni perks.

Head of the Trent Regatta

The Peterborough Rowing Club hosts the 2022 Head of the Trent Regatta. Spectators can enjoy excellent Trent Regatta event's QR Codeviews of the race from along the canal, at the Peterborough Rowing Club Boathouse, on the Faryon Bridge, and at the Student Centre.
