The Great Walk - re-creation of the Hike for Hundreds

The Hike for Hundreds originally took place in January 1968, a partnership of Trent University and Curve Lake First Nation. The purpose of the walk was to raise funds for a new Community Centre in Curve Lake.

Now, 50 years later - Champlain College is celebrating the 50th anniversary with a re-creation of the Great Walk.

As our country embarks on the journey towards reconciliation, this walk is meant to be a symbol of the friendship that continues between Trent University and Curve Lake to this day, and is an opportunity for all members of the Trent community to affirm their personal commitment to engage with reconciliation.

Students, staff, faculty and alumni are invited to participate by walking, volunteering or donating to the Curve Lake Community Centre.

Complete details about the Great Walk and how to register can be found on the website - click here

Walk begins at the Champlain College Great Hall.
