Professor Powell was the first faculty member specifically appointed to Trent's then program of Comparative Development Studies (CDS), and held a joint appointment in Comparative (later International) Development Studies and Anthropology from 1984 until his retirement in 2006.

Dr. Lisa Guenther will be this years Elaine Stavro Distinguished Visiting Scholar in Theory, Politics & Gender. Dr. Guenther is Queen's National Scholar in Political Philosophy and Critical Prison Studies at Queen's University in Canada.

This year's lecture will be on 'On Dwelling in Fraught places - Towards a Decolonial Abolitionist Ethics'.

Trent University Durham-GTA Alumni Lecture & Reception

Save the date and plan to attend our alumni lecture, presented by Trent alumnus, Dr. Scott Henderson '84, new Dean and Head of Trent Durham GTA.

The talk will consider the role that a vibrant music scene can play as part of civic rejuvenation within what been termed 'post-industrial' cities. Scott will explore the lessons learned and put forth idea as to how cities in the Durham Region might foster a healthy cultural eco-system for the development and growth of local music scenes. 

The evening will include a lecture, Q&A, presentation of the Young Leader Alumni Award to Jarret Leaman '05, light refreshments and the opportunity to network with other Trent alumni.

Vancouver Documentary Film Screening

Join the West Coast Alumni Chapter at a private screening of the Award winning documentary film "River Blue", with renowned river conservationist and Trent Honorary alumnus, Mark Angelo, Executive Director Roger Williams, and distinguished guest Trent University's new Chancellor, Stephen Stohn '66.

River Blue follows international river conservationist, Mark Angelo and spans the globe to infiltrate one of the world’s most pollutive industries, fashion. Watch the trailer for "River Blue".

Ten Thousand Villages Holiday Pop-Up Shop

Annual Ten Thousand Villages sale is run by student volunteers and connects to Gzowski college students' interests in sustainability. A portion of proceeds goes to the Ellen Bentzen Scholarship fund (awarded every April to a student in the Gzowski College in honour of our friend, colleauge and former Principal Ellen Bentzen).

International Education Week- "Education: The World's Greatest Force for Good"

International Education Week (IEW) is a celebration of international educational efforts and the vital impact that global engagement, international knowledge, and diversity has on preparing students for the future in a globalized world.

Trent International will be hosting a free event with Stephen Lewis, an international advocate for human rights, to discuss our collective commitment to international education.

10 Year Reunion for the Class of '15

This is the start of an exciting new tradition for Trent alumni.

Each year during Homecoming, a special reunion event will take place for those alumni who started 10 years earlier. The first event will take place in 2025 for those Trent alumni who started in 2015. At Trent University your alumni year is your start year at Trent.
