Chance Encounters - Christopher Ward

Wednesday, November 18, 2020 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Since his time at Trent University in the 1960s, a series of chance encounters has enriched Stephen Stohn's extraordinary career in Canadian show business. Naturally curious and conversational, his interactions have led to roles as a Canadian top 10 songwriter, award-winning television producer, and prominent entertainment lawyer. Now, wearing his Chancellor's hat, Dr. Stohn is welcoming friends of Trent to a series of informal and intimate interviews. This time, the chance encounters will be shared with you. The pilot episode of "Chance Encounters" features Chancellor Stohn talking to his good friend, songwriter, radio and television personality, and novelist Christopher Ward. Ward has written songs for Diana Ross, Hilary Duff, Wynonna Judd, The Backstreet Boys, and many others. His best-known song is the worldwide #1 hit for Alannah Myles, "Black Velvet." He helped launch Much Music as Canada's first VJ and is currently co-host of the radio show/podcast "Famous Lost Words." Ward has written three novels. His latest book, Is This Live? Inside the Wild Early Years of MuchMusic, was published by Random House Canada in October of 2016.
