Thank you to OPSEU Local 365 and TUFA for supporting The Student Centre.
OPSEU Local 365 and TUFA have joined many donors in supporting the students in their vision of a Student Centre. The new centre will house two state-of-the-art, high tech classrooms as well as Stohn Hall, a 250-seat tiered lecture theatre that can also host special events and performances. It will provide a home for Trent’s new Centre for Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation, meeting space for Trent’s diverse clubs and levy groups, and be a hub for all students, those who live on campus and off.
The Symons Campus has grown. It was built for 3,000 students and there are now over 7,000. The Bata Library is still the primary gathering spot but it cannot provide all the study and meeting space that is needed. The same is true of the Colleges, which remain the foundation of the Trent experience but which are strained to accommodate the needs of a growing student population.
The new Student Centre, along with the library and the colleges, will help future generations enjoy and benefit from the unique Trent student experience shared by all alumni. Learn more about the project.
