Trent University alumni from the classes of 1967 through 1970 are invited to share in a weekend of nostalgia and camaraderie as they celebrate their 50th anniversary of joining the Trent community.  

Join friends for a walk down memory lane, relive iconic moments from your time at Trent, and see what’s new on the Symons and downtown campuses. Whether you sign-up for the day or can stay for the weekend, you are sure to enjoy thoughtful programming, scrumptious food, and lots of opportunities to reconnect with friends. You won’t want to miss out on this milestone event!

Daytime Programming

Check In

Get ready to kick off an unforgettable day on campus! Collect your swag bag filled with goodies, grab a snack to fuel up for the day ahead, connect with old friends, then take your seat in Wenjack Theatre (a space sure to bring back some memories) …  50th celebrations are about to officially get underway! 

Welcome & Special Guest Lecture 
9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. | Wenjack Theatre  
A panel of recognizable professors will lead a thoughtful journey through time with their "Then and Now" mini-lectures, reflecting on the subjects that captured young minds then, and how their fields have changed over the last 50 years. Revisit the topics taught back in the day, explore their current relevance, and consider how they are now being addressed today, both within the academic setting and by society as a whole. 

Campus Tour - New Spaces, Favourite Places, and Historic Traces  
10:45 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. | Start from the Otonabee College Atrium  
Explore Symons Campus like never before with a guided tour, curated especially for your 50-year reunion. Explore recent renovations to buildings such as Bata Library and the Athletics Centre and discover new campus gems such as the Student Centre. Don't miss this one-of-a-kind experience to walk in the footsteps of the past and uncover the new spaces and places of the present.

Lunch and Alumni Awards 
12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. | The Great Hall 
The Great Hall has always been a place for special Trent gatherings and this casual lunch will be no exception. After Trent University Distinguished Alumni Award presentations to Ms. Janet Bax ’69 and Dr. Bill Waiser ’71, catch up with old friends and classmates and chat with special guests Chancellor Stephen Stohn '66, Dr. John Wadland, Dr. Ray March & Dr. Deborah Berrill '69.

Town & Gown Tour  
2:45 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. 
Alumni from the classes of ʼ67, ʼ68, ʼ69, and ʼ70 will be treated to a bus tour of downtown Peterborough.

Sadleir House - First stop, Sadleir House, Peter Robinson College. Alumni are sure to enjoy a visit to this historically significant, beautifully maintained building. Meet the staff, student leaders and artists who continue to make this space a vibrant student and community centre.

Traill College - Traill College welcomes you to soak up the nostalgia as you tour one of Trent’s original colleges; explore the many corners of this thriving downtown campus including the recently renovated Scott House, modern and inspiring Bagnani Hall, historic Kerr House, The Trend campus pub, and newly built Jalynn Bennett Amphitheatre, an exceptional outdoor performing arts venue. 

Evening Programming
6:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.

Alumni Dinner, hosted by Otonabee College
6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. | Otonabee College Dining Hall  
Stay a little longer! BBQ is on the menu, along with the company of new and old friends. Enjoy the casual atmosphere as you dine al fresco and catch up with fellow alumni. 

Classic Quad Party  
7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. | Otonabee College Quad  
Lounge by the cozy bonfire and relive fond memories or get competitive with a variety of lawn games. With so much to enjoy, you won't want the day to end. 

Retro Pub Night at the Cat’s Ass  
8:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. | Otonabee College Dining Hall  
Get ready to turn back the clock and relive your university days at the revival of the infamous Cat's Ass – recreated for one night only! Put on your retro best and get ready to dance the night away to live music while sipping on your favorite drinks from the cash bar. This is going to be a night filled with nostalgia, fun and unforgettable memories.  

Sunday Café 
Sunday, May 14, 2023 
7:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. | Otonabee College Dining Hall  
Wrap up your reunion weekend with a Sunday Café. Enjoy an informal weekend wrap-up as you take time to reminisce about the good old days and make new memories. Don't forget to exchange contact information before you depart, so you can keep in touch and continue your Trent connections.
